What is a domain name?
A domain name is the address people use to find your business online, such as poppydesignstudio.com.
It can be connected to your website and also used to create professional email addresses.
Do I need a website to have a business email address?
No.
You can use your domain for professional email even if you don't currently have a website.
If you're planning to build a website later, using your domain for email now can still help establish your business identity.
Can I use my existing domain?
Usually, yes.
If you already own a domain, we can look at how it is currently registered and configured before discussing the best way forward.
We won't make changes without first understanding what is already connected to it.
Can you help me register a new domain?
Yes.
We can help you search for and register an appropriate domain for your business, subject to availability and any eligibility requirements attached to a particular domain extension.
If your first choice domain isn't available, we can also help you consider alternatives.
What's the difference between a mailbox and Microsoft 365?
If you mainly need professional business email, a mailbox may be all you require.
Microsoft 365 offers additional options and applications depending on the licence selected.
We'll explain what's included so you aren't paying for things your business doesn't need.
Can I have more than one email address?
Yes.

What happens when my domain needs renewing?
Domains aren't purchased permanently. They are registered for a period of time and then need renewing.
If we're managing your domain, we'll make the renewal arrangements and responsibilities clear so that an important business domain isn't simply forgotten about.
Can you move my domain from another provider?
In many cases, yes.
The exact process depends on the domain extension and where it's currently registered, so we'll check the existing setup first before recommending a transfer.
Is my website hosting the same as my email hosting?
No.
Your website and your email are separate services, even though both may use the same domain name.
Keeping that distinction clear can also make future changes and troubleshooting much easier.
