Business-Branding-Guidelines

A logo gives you an identity. Branding guidelines show you how to use it.

You've invested in a professional logo but your brand is much more than one file.

Which colours should you use? What fonts belong to your business? Which version of your logo works best in different situations? And how should everything look when somebody else creates something for your brand?

Branding guidelines bring all of those pieces together.

At Poppy Design Studio, we create practical guidelines that help you, your team and your suppliers use your brand consistently.

The result is a business that looks professional, recognisable and joined up wherever people see it.

One brand. One identity. Used consistently everywhere.

Which branding guidelines do you need?

Not every business needs the same level of branding support, which is why we offer two clear options.

Our Basic Branding Guidelines give you the visual foundations you need to keep your identity consistent. These cover your logo, brand colours and typography.

Our Premium Branding Guidelines go much further, defining how your business looks and communicates through brand values, mission, messaging, logo rules, typography, colours, imagery, overall brand style and an accessibility colourway.

Both packages also include your main logo, secondary logo and icon design, along with professional logo files for print and web.

Not sure which level is right for you?

We'll help you choose based on how your business will actually use its brand.

Branding Guidelines For You

Your brand should look like the same business everywhere.

Your website shouldn't look like one company while your brochure, social media and business cards look like another.

Branding guidelines give everybody working with your business one clear reference point.

They help you keep control of:

With our Premium Branding Guidelines, you'll also have guidance covering your brand values, mission, messaging, imagery, wider brand style and an accessibility colourway.

That becomes increasingly valuable as your business grows and more people begin creating things on your behalf.

Branding Guidelines FAQs

Your logo is one part of your visual identity.

Branding guidelines explain how your logo, colours, typography and other brand elements should be used consistently.

Basic includes your primary logo, secondary logo and icon design, together with guidelines covering your logo, colours and typography.

Premium includes the same core identity pack but adds detailed guidance around brand values, mission, messaging, logo use, greyscale options, typography, colours, imagery, brand style and an accessibility colourway.

If you mainly need a professional identity and straightforward visual rules, Basic may be enough.

If you're building a larger brand, working across several marketing channels or need guidance for staff and outside suppliers, Premium provides a much more comprehensive framework.

Your approved logo is supplied in Vector, PDF, PNG and JPG formats suitable for print and web use.

It's an alternative version of your main identity, often abbreviated or arranged differently so it works better in smaller or differently shaped spaces.

It's a simplified element of your identity that can work independently of the full logo, particularly in places such as social media profiles or small digital applications.

It's an additional approved colour treatment designed to provide stronger contrast in situations where accessibility requires it.

This is included within our Premium Branding Guidelines.

Absolutely.

That's one of their biggest benefits. Your printer, web designer, marketing company, social media manager or anyone else working with the brand can follow the same guidance.

Give your brand a clear identity everyone can follow.

From your logo and colours to typography, messaging and visual style, we'll create practical guidelines that keep your business looking recognisable wherever it appears.

Clear identity. Consistent application. Stronger brand.
